Ett hål i mitt hjärta
Lukas Moodysson, the young Swedish director of the upbeat Together and Fucking Åmål, continues down the dark road first taken in Lilya 4-Ever with this abrasive hand-held drama, seeking the glimmerings of humanity in a suburban hell-hole of pornography. Three people spend the weekend getting drunk and high in a cramped suburban apartment. They're making 'amateur' porn and the more out of it they get, the more they goad each other into new extremes of degradation, as if their excesses will win them Reality TV kudos – in the extreme porn division. The teenage son of the film's nominal director lurks sullenly in his bedroom.
"A Grand Guignol for the age of surveillance video on primetime and downloadable double penetration scenes, A Hole in My Heart feels like an assault… The film’s abrasive squalor conceals an impassioned sociocultural critique and a courageous attempt to understand the process that transforms human degradation into popular entertainment." — Jason Anderson, Cinema Scope
