A lean, mean showcase for Wellington's vibrant underground hip-hop scene, Clash of the Titans follows local rappers and freestylers as they compete for the title of Wellington's best battle emcee. The Clash of the Titans competition is simplicity itself, with emcees going head-to-head in a war of words and wit, until one man or woman is left standing. The competitors are handpicked by Clash organiser TuOne and the competition has an international flavour with drum n bass emcee RuggedTek from London and Raysa from Johannesburg lining up against talented locals like Lyrix and Xhale, but all are looking over their shoulders as the presence of the indefatigable reigning champ Juse1 looms. Filmmakers Will Moore and Paul Wedel capture all the thrill and excitement of the event, seamlessly weaving interviews with the participants into footage of the Clash. The sound is crisp and clear so all those killer punchlines pop off the screen. Wannabe battlers may want to bring a pen and paper to jot the best ones down. — MM
