NZIFF and a sold-out Civic Theatre audience celebrated Buster Keaton, the stone-faced genius of silent-era comedy, at his funniest and most thrilling in an exquisite new digital restoration of The General with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra performing the live music accompaniment on Sunday 5 August.

It was a star-studded evening at the world premiere of Hepi Mita's personal documentary Merata: How Mum Decolonised the Screen at ASB Waterfront Theatre. Congratulations to the winners of the seventh annual New Zealand's Best short film competition. The winners were announced on stage at The Civic in Auckland on Saturday 4 August.
