In NZ, film classification is required by law under the Films, Videos & Publications Classifications Act 1993. Due to the high volume of films submitted, when tickets go on sale some films in the programme are still waiting to be classified. Until a film classification is received, a film will be considered R18 (unless it is clearly made for children) and only people over 18 will be able to purchase tickets. Film classifications will be added to the website as soon as they are available.
Important: If you purchase an adult ticket to this film for a person aged under 18 and the film later receives a rating to which they are legally excluded, that person will not be permitted into the screening and no refunds will be issued.
Child tickets (15 and under) to R13/RP13 classified films can only be purchased either with valid ID or by a parent at the box office. We regret these tickets cannot be purchased online or over the phone.

Please find below a guide to the various classifications that a film may receive. Certificates showing a film's classification will be clearly displayed at festival venues, and will often have a note describing the nature of content in the film that may be of concern to viewers. Classifications can be found on the film pages of the website.
